Write letters or emails to the politicians behind the proposal

Relevant Ministers in the NSW Government are:

  • Gladys Berejiklian, Premier of NSW – Gladys is ultimately responsible.
  • Andrew Constance, Minister for Transport and Roads – Andrew is responsible for ports, and the road network that provides access to them.
  • Dominic Perrottet, Treasurer – Dominic needs to find the vast sums of money the proposal will cost to build.
  • Rob Stokes, Minister for Planning and Public Spaces – Rob needs to consider whether Sydney should have one of its best beaches ruined – plus all the other planning issues this mega proposal will present.
  • Stuart Ayres, Minister for Jobs, Investment, Tourism and Western Sydney – Stuart needs to consider whether any tourism and job opportunities the cruise ship terminal might deliver should stay in congested Sydney – or be shared amongst the regions by upgrading cruise terminals at Port Kembla (Wollongong) and Newcastle.
  • Matthew Kean, Minister for Energy and Environment – Matthew needs to consider the impact of this mega proposal on the marine and terrestial environments.

Write a letter to the agency managing the proposal

The Berejiklian government is the ultimate driver of the extravagant and destructive proposal to deliver a mega cruise ship terminal on behalf of their patrons, the foreign owned cruise lines. However they have nominated Port Authority of NSW as the manager of their campaign, so at this point you may find it appropriate to express your opinions to the Port Authority at the following email address:

Communicate with people at the beach

On busy days, you can put our one page handout on the threat to Yarra Bay under the windscreen wipers of beachgoers’ cars.

Better still, walk along the beach and talk to beachgoers about the threat to Yarra Bay; listen to their opinions, answer their questions and give them copies of the handout to read.

Click the following links to download our one page handout. Print some copies (preferably in colour) and go for a walk!
